Autumn Tennis
To all Skyhawks players and parents,
Fall is fast approaching. We hope you have gotten the chance to catch some of the Rogers Cup action this week, there simply is nothing like seeing the best players in the world in person.
We also hope to see you on the courts in our last two weeks of camp (it has been a blast!) and wanted to remind you that we always take the last week before Labour Day off to rest and enjoy watching The USOPEN on TV (for some lucky Skyhawks we will be driving to NYC to see it live in person)
We also wanted to let you know that fall registration is open and it's a really short term. Just four weeks. The bubble will begin construction on Sep 24 with the doors opening Oct 1. Programs will be starting mid October in earnest.
So with that in mind, this is a good time to rest. Why? Because we really have no off-season and rest is a big part of a players development. Do not get me wrong, I do not want players to not sign up, I just know how bogged down things can get without some time off in the year. If you have taken the summer off then it's a great time to get back into the swing of things.
I also wanted to mention to those who have not heard yet that I personally will be taking the month of September off to rewrite a tennis book I have been working on. I will be suspending all privates and tennis coaching completely. I am not going anywhere though (other than on my computer to write four hours a day) and will be here to watch the Club Championships in September (9th and 16th) and I don't want to miss our North Bay match (date to be determined) but I will not be on the courts everyday like normal.
The coaching staff and I have made the decision that with the short term we are not going to make any line up changes to the teams in the fall. So all teams remain. Please let me know if you are going to take the fall term off or not, otherwise you can all sign up now for Skyhawks as well as the new NEXT GEN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
